A New Beginning for Crown
Dear Crown Beauty Bar and Crown Uptown clients and family,
The year 2020 has brought unprecedented challenges and changes many businesses have never faced. For the Crown team, those challenges started earlier in July of 2019 with the passing of my husband and business partner, Zac. Only 3 months before his tragic accident, we had purchased Glo Limited to become Crown Uptown Spa, the 3rd location of Crown Beauty Bar LLC. Expansion was a large vision of Zac’s, and I wondered if it was something I would be able to maintain without his partnership. Wise financial counsel advised me to put the right people in management, take some time away, and wait at least a year for any major changes due to the way grief clouds everything. I am very thankful to have heeded this advice because deep down I didn’t know if I could run the multiple locations, but I was not ready to give up on what we started together. I even feared that downsizing or selling the business would not be honoring him. Losing Zac, the passing of time, and enduring Covid-19 has shown me the frailty of life and gave me the clarity I needed. The most honoring thing I can do is spend my time and energy wisely on our son and downsize to one location.
With great honor and gratitude, I would like to announce that Crown Uptown Spa has sold to new ownership and will reopen as Glo Limited this week. The new owner, Brooke Lindsey, is dedicated to providing the same brands and quality services you have come to love.
To the Crown Uptown team, thank you for your hard work and grace as I navigated the unimaginable. The caliber of professionals and history of the business gave me confidence to take time away. Nothing went as Zac and I hoped, but you were all resilient and professional. I learned a lot and grew through the challenges of this year, and I will always look back with gratitude for the opportunity.
To all of the Crown Teams and Friends, thank you for the love and support the past 7 years, and especially this last one. With incredible teams of people, new hires in management, great professional counsel, and supportive clients we survived the hardest year to date. This transition brings me tremendous peace as I think about focusing on one team in our flagship location allowing more time and energy to spend with my son. This season of life has felt impossible at times, but I remain hopeful as I reflect on the foundation Zac and I built and regain strength and inspiration. I look forward to continuing the Crown journey with many of you by my side. Crown Beauty Bar will continue to accept gift cards and offer hair, spa, makeup, and nail services under my ownership in the original downtown location. Who knows, maybe I can even meet my ultimate goal and get behind the chair again a little.
With love and gratitude,
Kelly Stuckey
